Building Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Members of the Perry Becker Design team have been involved with Disney’s Animal Kingdom since its inception, contributing to the Blue Sky Concept Development phase through to the final stages of park construction. Operating under a Master Services Agreement with the Walt Disney World Company, PBD consistently serves as an extension of Imagineering Staff, offering comprehensive design and construction management services.
An ever-evolving park
Throughout our collaboration, PBD has undertaken various park-wide projects, encompassing new construction initiatives and enhancements. These projects have included the design and implementation of themed pedestrian routes, the creation of immersive animal habitats, and the development of secure animal containment areas. Our ongoing commitment to excellence ensures that every aspect of Disney’s Animal Kingdom reflects the highest standards of creativity, innovation, and guest experience.

Habitats to Operations: Shaping Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Our long-standing collaboration with Disney’s Animal Kingdom has allowed us to work on a variety of projects, both in guest-facing areas and essential back-of-house operations. We’ve had the opportunity to enhance animal habitats such as the Asian Small-Clawed Otter and the Western Lowland Gorilla, creating immersive environments that bring guests closer to the natural world while maintaining high standards of animal care.
Behind the scenes, our expertise has contributed to key operational projects like the African Elephant Training/Medical Wall and Bus Loop Load/Unload Zones, ensuring the park runs smoothly and efficiently. Whether working on front-of-house experiences that captivate guests or back-of-house operations that support park infrastructure, our commitment to design excellence and functionality ensures that every project at Disney’s Animal Kingdom adds to the magic of the park.
