Perry Becker Design played a pivotal role in the complete redesign of Disney’s Magic Kingdom Hub, breathing new life into this iconic area while enhancing guest experiences.

From Blue Sky to Construction

PBD was involved in every phase of the design process, from concept sketches through to construction administration. The team utilized advanced 3D modeling and BIM clash detection to ensure precise coordination during construction. This technology played a crucial role in phasing the work while allowing the park to remain fully operational—a logistical challenge in such a high-traffic environment.

The project introduced numerous features, including sculpted gardens, statues, fountains, additional pathways, expanded restaurant seating, and a dedicated viewing area for fireworks and performances. The redesign also included the creation of a second ring around the central Main Street USA hub, featuring new pathways, garden spaces, and upgrades to the performance area near Cinderella Castle.

PROJECT STORY

The show must go on

Construction was carefully orchestrated to minimize disruption, with work continuing during the day in strategically phased areas protected by barriers and temporary walkways to maintain guest safety and accessibility. At night, after the park closed, construction intensified, with crews working around nightly fireworks displays. Heavy construction tasks were scheduled after the fireworks to maximize overnight productivity while keeping the park ready for guests each morning.

Through this balance of day and night work, coupled with meticulous planning and technology, Perry Becker Design helped ensure that the Magic Kingdom Hub’s transformation was completed smoothly, without interrupting the experience of millions of visitors. The result is a wider, more efficient hub space with improved amenities, enhanced guest flow, and a visually captivating design.
