Walt Disney Imagineering enlisted Perry Becker Design to spearhead area development design services for the expansion of the France Pavilion at Epcot, which included the creation of the Ratatouille plaza and immersive 4D ride experience.
The Heart of Paris at Epcot
The expansion of the France Pavilion at Epcot brings the elegance of Parisian design to life, inviting guests to experience the charm of a traditional riverside walkway. Lush trees, inviting benches, and whimsical topiaries create a serene atmosphere as visitors are guided toward the all-new creperie restaurant.
Along the way, guests are treated to breathtaking views of the Eiffel Tower and an immersive urban market, seamlessly blending iconic Parisian landmarks with the Pavilion’s design. The area’s centerpiece, a delightful fountain, anchors the entrance to the signature 4D ride, surrounded by intricately themed building facades that capture the essence of Paris
Remy’s World Comes Alive
The storytelling and placemaking in this expansion immerse guests in the world of Ratatouille, allowing them to step into Chef Remy’s universe. Thoughtfully designed French gardens, elegant fountains, and picturesque streetscapes evoke the magic of the animated film, transporting visitors into Gusteau’s renowned restaurant.
Perry Becker Design’s attention to detail brings this beloved story to life, creating an unforgettable journey where guests can feel as if they’ve entered the heart of Remy’s culinary adventures.
