Corridor Redevelopment for Disney: Enhancing Access and Connectivity

 

As the Design Landscape Architect and Landscape Architect of Record, PBD was responsible for managing a team of landscape architects, irrigation designers, and lighting designers, in the redevelopment and redesign of one of the most trafficked vehicular corridors within the Reedy Creek Improvement District providing accessibility to multiple Disney hotels, theme parks and commercial properties. PBD staff worked with both members of Disney Imagineering as well as the Reedy Creek Improvement District to develop the corridor master plans that studied all vehicular and pedestrian circulation patterning, including design coordination with the bridged overpass at the intersection with Buena Vista Drive.

Following the approved master plan, PBD then oversaw the landscape architectural design, construction plans development, permitting, materials procurement and full construction administration inspection permitting for this 5-mile corridor.
