Restoring Paradise: Rebuilding the Ritz Carlton After Hurricane Irma
After Hurricane Irma caused significant damage to the island, Perry Becker Design, in collaboration with L2 Studios, was hired by Ashford Hotel Group to assess landscape and site damage at the Ritz Carlton resort. PBD provided landscape and hardscape design, construction administration, and coordinated enhancements to the property’s amenities, including entry sequence, signage, and lighting upgrades. The revitalization restored the resort’s tropical environment and rehabilitated guest areas, seamlessly integrating the new expansions with the existing hotel development.
During the restoration, Perry Becker Design, in conjunction with our partners Martin Aquatic, was also commissioned to prepare the design and construction package for a brand-new family pool amenity with interactive splash pad, two-tiered pool, and water slide to greatly expand the resort’s pool amenities. As part of the pool area expansion, the existing pool was upgraded with new materials and furnishing, landscape, and the integration of state-of-the-art modern cabanas, bringing a level of upgraded sophistication to an already iconic resort amenity.
